I love this photograph. Orchids are always beautiful in any color and type, but recently I've been carefully collecting fabric and paint samples in the palest shade of pink - almost like a ballet pink. These cymbidium orchids are the perfect shade.
Cymbidiums will always remind me of a wedding I worked on in La Jolla years ago. The bride must have had thousands of them throughout her centerpieces and bouquets, not to mention one hand-tied to each of the 300 gift box favors containing lemon squares. You'd think the La Valencia was beautiful enough as it is; the florals and linens at this wedding were truly unbelievable. I'll see if I can find a picture to post coming up.
